Rapa Nui oil painting

The Easter Island Rapa Nui lies in the South-East Pacific, more than 3,500 km off the Chilean coast.
Because of the Moai cult (638 stone figures) the people destroyed their own livelihood.
They needed so many logs to transport the heavy sculptures to the coast, so that finally, the last tree was cut down.
To this day, the writing Rongorongo (top) is not deciphered.
