Nothing is more powerful for me than this one brief moment.
Here, near Viareggio, I often was when I was studying in Perugia.
A lovely student from Somalia said: The sun is as big as your heart is open.
The sunset calls them in their native language Swahili: Jioni katika!

Gulf of Baratti oil painting

By late afternoon I was thrilled with the pine forests and the evening light.

Stone houses in Tuscany oil painting
Recently discovered in the studio: These stone houses are located on Monte Argentario on the southern edge of Tuscany.
Porto Santo Stefano and Orbetello are not far away.
But up here it is gorgeous for painting.

Pitigliano / Tuscany Oil painting oil painting
This oil painting depicts the Italian town of Pitigliano in Tuscany.
The medieval stone houses in Pitigliano are adventurously built on and in volcanic tufa.
The scenery is spectacular, especially at sunset.
Pittiglino is approximately between Grosseto and Perugia.
I studied a semester here many years ago.
Since then I always come here to Pitigliano.
This time to paint this dream city.
With oil paints on canvas.
The old center is rehearsing an opera.
My wife Connie said: "If you do not see the sky and the flowers with your own eyes, nobody believes that.
I do not care.
Today I paint Pitigliano in pink, ocher, purple, purple and pink.
Salvatore, an Italian hairdresser around the age of 80, spontaneously says: Che bello! Would you like a coffee and a haircut afterwards? Yes, I would like!
